Diesel
Guard Premium Diesel Additives |
|
- The petroleum industries highest quality premium diesel
additive. This complete multifunctional formulation
provides heavy duty diesel engines a full range of performance
benefits for maximum operating efficiency. Formulations
include various levels of cetane improver, injector detergent,
lubricity improver, stabilizers, moisture dispersant, corrosion
and oxidation inhibitors.
-
- The key to peak diesel engine performance is clean and
deposit free injectors. The Diesel Guard Supreme detergent
package meets or exceeds the rigorous Cummins L-10 Superior
rating for injector deposit cleanliness. Proper use will
provide injector deposit clean-up and keep clean benefits which
help provide the exacting fuel spray patterns needed for proper
fuel ignition and combustion.
-
- Use of Diesel Guard Supreme has been documented under
industry, laboratory, and field tests to:
-
* Improve fuel economy
-
* Improve fuel lubricity
-
* Reduce smoke and emissions
-
* Extend engine life
- The Engine Manufacturers Association (EMA) and various
regulatory agencies have established standards for
"superior" and/or "premium" diesel
fuel. Diesel fuel treated with Diesel Guard Supreme
can meet the EMA and the proposed National Conference of Weights
and Measures (NCWM) specifications when blended with the proper
quality base diesel fuel.

Ultra-low
sulfur diesel was proposed by EPA
as a new standard for the sulfur content in on-road
diesel fuel sold in the United
States since October 15 ,
except for the state of California, which required it since September
1.
|
This new regulation applies to all diesel fuel, diesel fuel
additives and distillate fuels blended with diesel for on-road
use, such as kerosene, however, it does not yet apply to train
locomotives, marine, or off road uses. The EPA is also
mandating the use of ULSD fuel in model year 2007 and newer
diesel fuel engines designed for on-highway use. The EPA rule
goes into effect for non-road, locomotive, and marine (NRLM)
diesel fuel on June 1st, 2007. |

Bio
Diesel refers to a diesel equivalent,
processed fuel derived from biological sources. Though derived
from biological sources, it is a processed fuel
that can be readily used in diesel-engined vehicles, which
distinguishes biodiesel from the straight
vegetable oils (SVO) or waste
vegetable oils (WVO) used as fuels in some
modified diesel vehicles.
There is much debate about the
extent to which biodiesel can safely be used in conventional
diesel engines without modification. Using biodiesel in
unmodified engines may lead to problems: since biodiesel is a
better solvent than standard diesel, it 'cleans' the engine,
removing deposits in the fuel lines, and thus may cause
blockages in the fuel injectors.
Biodiesel is a light to dark
yellow liquid. It is practically immiscible
with water, has a high boiling point and
low vapor pressure
Typical methyl ester biodiesel has a flash
point of ~ 150 °C (300 °F), making it
rather non-flammable. Biodiesel uncontaminated with
starting material can be regarded as non-toxic. |
