Ullman Oil Inc. supplies all types of Bio Fuel, Bio Diesel, Ultra Low Sulfur Fuel, Green Fuel, and Green Gasoline to our northeast Ohio customers.

What Are The Benefits Of Biofuels?

Biofuels are made from renewable resources, such as soybeans. This means their sources can be re-grown. In addition, it also helps contribute to the economy of the United States and reduces our dependence on foreign oil companies. When compared to petroleum diesel, biodiesel is better for the environment because of lower carbon emissions and lower sulfur.

Bio Diesel refers to a diesel equivalent, processed fuel derived from biological sources. Though derived from biological sources, it is a processed fuel  that can be readily used in diesel-engined vehicles, which distinguishes biodiesel from the straight vegetable oils (SVO) or waste vegetable oils  (WVO) used as fuels in some modified diesel vehicles.

There is much debate about the extent to which biodiesel can safely be used in conventional diesel engines without modification. Using biodiesel in unmodified engines may lead to problems: since biodiesel is a better solvent than standard diesel, it 'cleans' the engine, removing deposits in the fuel lines, and thus may cause blockages in the fuel injectors.

Biodiesel is a light to dark yellow liquid. It is practically immiscible  with water, has a high boiling point and low vapor pressure  Typical methyl ester biodiesel has a flash point  of ~ 150 °C (300 °F), making it rather non-flammable.  Biodiesel uncontaminated with starting material can be regarded as non-toxic.

What Are Biofuels?

Biofuels are fuels produced from biomass. Biofuels fall into two broad categories; first generation biofuels and second generation biofuels. These categories are based on their feedstock and the process used to produce the finished product.

First-generation biofuels are produced in one of two ways. One way is through the fermentation of either starch-based food products, such as corn kernels, or sugar-based food products, such as sugar cane, into ethanol. An alternate way is by processing vegetable oils, such as soy, rapeseed, and palm, into biodiesel.

Second-generation biofuels are made from a wider variety of nonfood sources, such as cellulose, algae, and recovered waste products.
Ultra-low sulfur diesel

was proposed by EPA as a new standard for the sulfur content in on-road diesel fuel sold in the United States since October 15th 2007, except for the state of California, which required it since September 1st of that same year.

This new regulation applies to all diesel fuel, diesel fuel additives and distillate fuels blended with diesel for on-road use, such as kerosene, however, it does not yet apply to train locomotives, marine, or off road uses. The EPA is also mandating the use of ULSD fuel in model year 2007 and newer diesel fuel engines designed for on-highway use. The EPA rule goes into effect for non-road, locomotive, and marine (NRLM) diesel fuel on June 1st, 2007.
